My name is Ania Telfer. I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor with a Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle. Born in Tkaronto (Toronto) to Polish parents, I am now grateful to offer services on the traditional territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples.

My work is grounded in a lifelong connection to horses, beginning in early childhood. That intuitive bond has evolved into formal training in Equusoma® Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (Level 1 Student Practitioner), an attachment-based and somatic approach to healing through horse-assisted experiential work. The more I learn, the more I am in awe of horses’ capacity for relational attunement, co-regulation, and emotional reflection, increasingly supported by research in neuroscience and attachment theory.

I specialize in trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy for anxiety, trauma, grief, burnout, and life transitions, with an emphasis on embodied awareness and relational healing through experiential approaches.

I also bring a background in expressive arts and communication studies, which informs a creative, integrative approach to therapy in both individual and equine-assisted work.

Outside of my counselling practice, I enjoy yoga, a cozy cup of tea, creating art, and spending time in nature. I feel calm near water, the feeling of paint on my hands makes me feel alive and the presence of a horse fills me with wonder.
